We work in a rapidly changing industry, to keep at its forefront requires a strong commitment to ongoing training and development. In 1995 we were awarded the UK national training standard – ‘Investors In People’ and in 2017, we achieved their Gold standard. This helps us measure our training and development performance and through its regular external review process identify and implement improvements.
The Investors In People certification is highly valued by the Leadership Team, so we were delighted to read the initial paragraph of the executive summary in the latest report.
“I found Tessella to be a vibrant Company … People were very positive about working there and the way they are managed. Development featured as one of the things the organisation does best. The sheer volume of training for technical people in particular, was second to none. The Company has linked its HR strategy to its 2020 vision, which focuses on significant growth. They recognise that people are at the heart of the business in every way – in retaining key clients and maintaining the edge over a growing number of competitors; and in enabling growth across target sectors, geographies and specialist services. Indeed their staff are one of their three key stakeholders, alongside customers and shareholders.”
I believe this reflects a culture built on and contributed to by everyone, a culture of which we can all feel proud.
