Assuring benefits from technology change projects
It is a strength of Tessella that the boundary between our consultancy and project delivery teams is very fluid. Many of the services aimed at ensuring the success of change projects can equally well be performed as a consultancy assignment, or as part of a wider delivery project. This means that Tessella consultants will naturally engage closely with delivery teams, ensuring that both business and technical issues are given appropriate consideration.
Project Management within Tessella is performed according to guidelines in our ISO9000 Quality Management System. These guidelines are informed by industry standard methodologies, such as Prince II, but are tuned and adapted in the light of our 29 year history of delivering projects in dynamic R&D based environments.
Business Analysis and Benefits Assurance activities are critical when delivering into a scientific environment. The Business Analyst must be able to develop a clear understanding of the real, sometimes unstated, requirements of the system users, and must work closely with the project team to ensure that the delivered project actually does what is needed.
Although Process Modelling and Process Improvement can be thought of as sitting in the Strategic Consultancy domain, there are often opportunities for improvement while a project is being delivered. Tessella has had very successful experience of performing a requirements elicitation and analysis phase of a project in parallel with a separate Lean-6 Sigma review of the client department.
