Creating advanced visualization

Experimental diagnostics, computer modelling and simulation can generate huge quantities of complex data. Visualization of the data is often the only way in which it can be effectively explored. Visualization allows scientists and engineers to look at complex datasets in different ways, to find the most informative views and examine regions of interest. Tessella has a long history of providing visualization solutions across many industries using products such as VTK, AVS, PV-WAVE, IDL and Matlab.

Image Processing and Analysis

Image analysis is used in fields as diverse as quality control and the interpretation of diffraction patterns. Whilst often used as a replacement for human inspection, image processing and analysis can achieve things that could not be accomplished with the human eye alone. Analyzing a diffraction pattern by hand is a time consuming and error-prone process that can be completed by a computer in seconds. An automated system can decide if two electrophoresis gels represent the same mix of proteins by applying image warping to align features. Both are examples of Tessella’s experience in this field.

Computer Aided Design

Modern CAD systems allow designs to be tested using simulations in the virtual world long before committing resources to make a prototype. Traditionally CAD tools only allowed users to create designs using primitives like lines, circles and parameterized surfaces. But the design process can be accelerated using tools developed for a specific engineering problem. These allow complete component designs to be generated from just a few key dimensions in seconds. Tessella has experience of developing bespoke CAD tools, and also adding domain-specific customizations to products like AutoCAD, to provide high-productivity solutions.

Charting

Simple charting is an extremely effective way of illuminating data in applications and reports. Tessella has long experience of using charting to enhance our customers’ applications.
