C++ Developer for major physics application

Location: Tennessee

Responsibilities: 

• Further development of a maturing C++ data analysis framework for neutron scattering, with a strong focus on performance.
• Development of the interfaces (graphical C++ based, Python) used by scientists to interact with the framework.
• Create user documentation and write unit tests alongside all developed code for automated testing purposes.
• Work closely with other members of a geographically-dispersed international development team.
• Work with client scientists to understand and develop new functionality and algorithms to meet their analysis needs.

 Required skills: 

• C++ developer with 2+ years experience.  Experience in the use of the STL and templated code.
• Knowledge/experience of object-oriented design and implementation
• Experience in Python, Qt, and OpenGL is desirable, but not essential.
• Cross-platform (Windows, Linux, Mac) experience beneficial.
• Good BS degree from a good school in a numerate scientific discipline, preferably physics.
• Advanced degree in physics is preferable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good team-working skills.
