C++ Developer for major physics application
Location: Tennessee
Responsibilities:
- Further development of a maturing C++ data analysis framework for neutron scattering, with a strong focus on performance.
- Development of the interfaces (graphical C++ based, Python) used by scientists to interact with the framework.
- Create user documentation and write unit tests alongside all developed code for automated testing purposes.
- Work closely with other members of a geographically-dispersed international development team.
- Work with client scientists to understand and develop new functionality and algorithms to meet their analysis needs.
Required skills:
- C++ developer with 2+ years experience. Experience in the use of the STL and templated code.
- Knowledge/experience of object-oriented design and implementation
- Experience in Python, Qt, and OpenGL is desirable, but not essential.
- Cross-platform (Windows, Linux, Mac) experience beneficial.
- Good BS degree from a good school in a numerate scientific discipline, preferably physics.
- Advanced degree in physics is preferable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good team-working skills.
