PRESS RELEASE: Unilever selects Tessella to deliver measurable value for R&D group
Oxford, UK | 21 January 2010. Tessella, the information technology and consulting services company selected by R&D, science and engineering leaders for business-critical assignments, has been awarded a preferred supplier framework contract with Unilever. The contract, which runs for three years, covers Unilever operations in the UK, Netherlands and the USA.
The contract monitors value supplied via a number of key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as delivering applications on time and to budget, the reuse of Unilever’s existing R&D assets as well as other metrics. This is part of Unilever’s approach to maximising value delivered by suppliers. “Getting best value from suppliers is vital to Unilever, we believe this contract is a good example of how to achieve this.” said Bill Neave, I&T Global Discover Lead.
The framework contract was awarded through a competitive tender process. Unilever were looking for an organization that would work effectively with their R&D group. “Unilever’s R&D activities are crucial to the success of our brands, we selected Tessella because their staff have a strong understanding of the demands of R&D informatics and are well versed in effective IT quality procedures.” said Pete Keeley, Global Solutions R&D Innov8 Leader.
