PRESS RELEASE: Tessella selected for British Library framework agreement
Monday, November 19th, 2007Tessella has been selected as one of three organizations to provide application development services to the British Library, under a new framework agreement. The agreement allows the Library to quickly and cost-effectively call down additional application development, and related IT services, to undertake tasks to help with peaks of demand.
Kevin Gell, Managing Director of Tessella, explained: “To be selected for the framework, we had to demonstrate that Tessella has the appropriate bespoke application development skill set, a proven track record, and that we provide excellent value for money. We are delighted to be supporting the British Library.”

Dr Robert Sharpe, Tessella’s Head of Digital Archiving Solutions, continued: “Tessella is also supplying the British Library with our Safety Deposit Box technology as key components of their digital archiving solutions. The technology has been designed to help memory institutions (including libraries and archives), who are already skilled at preserving paper material, to face the problems posed by preserving material stored in digital formats.”
